What is the Science of Reading?

The Science of Reading refers to decades of research from cognitive science, neuroscience, and education that highlights how students learn to read and what instructional practices lead to reading success. This evidence emphasizes the importance of systematically developing foundational skills such as:

Our coaching ensures these components are explicitly taught and integrated across K–8 classrooms using high-quality instructional materials and aligned with Mississippi’s College and Career Readiness Standards (MS CCRS).
